Doabook — Delete your data

For the Android app Doabook (com.doabook.app). Last updated: 14 October 2026.

Doabook keeps almost nothing about you on its servers. Your books, their translations, your notes and your reading position never leave your phone. This page says exactly what is kept, what you can have deleted, and how to ask.

What is kept on the server

WhatWhy it existsHow long
Free-allowance counters: a word count for one day, keyed by a random identifier the app creates, or by your Google account's numeric identifier if you signed in, or by the IP address the request came from To apply the free daily translation allowance and the service's abuse ceilings Only useful on the day it is written, and deleted on request
Help & Feedback messages you send from Settings, together with the contact detail you choose to include, your app version, Android version and device model To read and reply to your report, and to fix what it describes Kept while useful for support, and deleted on request

No book text is stored on the server. There is no account with a password, and no profile. No personal data is sold.

Step 1 — Remove what is on your phone

Everything Doabook holds locally goes away when you delete a book inside the app, clear the app's data in Android Settings, or uninstall the app. You do not need to ask us for this.

Step 2 — Ask us to delete the server-side records

  1. Write to [email protected] with the subject “Delete my data”.
  2. Say what to remove: the allowance counters, your feedback messages, or both.
  3. If you are asking about a feedback message, quote the message or the contact detail you used, so that we can find it. If you signed in with Google, say so, and we will remove the counters for that account.
  4. We reply to confirm when it is done.

You can also write from Settings → Help & Feedback inside the app, but please use the address above for a deletion request, so that it is handled as one.

What we cannot delete

Some data is held by the third parties named in the privacy policy, not by us:

What is kept after a request

Nothing of yours. There is no retention period for the records listed above; once they are deleted they are gone, and no copy is kept.
